Does Cumaru scratch?

Again, leaving your Cumaru unoiled or oiled won’t have any effect on the structural integrity of your deck’s boards, as Cumaru is naturally mildew, mold and insect resistant and won’t splinter or scratch easily.
How do you finish a Cumaru?
Cumaru is a very hard exotic wood. There are a couple of ways to go when finishing these floors. One is using a tung oil type floor finish. This will penetrate the wood more so than surface coatings and should not pose an adhesion problem.

Does Cumaru need to be sealed?
Our Cumaru decking is shipped with the end grain sealed with a clear wax to prevent any end checking and adverse movement. Fresh cuts should be sealed within 24hrs with end grain sealant. The end grain sealant is simply applied with a paintbrush and dries clear. DO NOT apply end seal to the surface of the decking.
