They put a time limit on how often you can change your tribe name. Now, some people have been unable to change it for 2 weeks, so it’s likely you wouldn’t have been able to change it for a while if you just changed it. That is why it was grayed out. But, leaving your tribe was probably the worst thing you could have done.
