Areas in which large numbers of varkids are found are ideal for getting Vermivorous to spawn. Varkids can be found in abundance within the Caustic Caverns and the Tundra Express – Farmhouse, both of them with convenient Fast Travel stations near the varkid spawn areas.

Go to caustic Caverns. Use the vending machines to top off your ammo supplies. Run around the first area with the dump truck until all varkids spawn. Wait for them to evolve and kill all of those that don’t (this allows more of them to spawn from their hives).
How do you make a Varkid mutate?
Brief
- Travel to Tundra Express.
- Lure Varkid larvae into transforming into adults. When Varkids enter their pods, run up and press X to inject the mutation.
- Kill the mutated Varkid.
- Repeat this process 3 more times.
- Pick up the Varkid corpse samples when they drop.
- Return to Sir Hammerlock.
How many times can a Varkid evolve?
Incase you don’t know, in BL2 varkids went from larva to Vermivorous with a total of 5 evolutions. In this game I spent about 2 hours yesterday with 3 of my friends trying to get varkids to evolve but we never got one past Super Badass.
