What is Tmcc train?
Trainmaster Command (TMCC) is Lionel’s electronic control system for O scale 3-rail model trains and toy trains that mainly ran from 1994 to 2006. Conceptually it is similar to Digital Command Control (DCC), the industry’s open standard used by HO scale and other 2-rail DC trains.
Is LionChief a DCC?

You can power your train with a conventional DC transformer, or a DCC system up to 14 Volts. The LionChief remote control included will work with or without a DCC signal on the rails.

LEGACY looks complicated, but it hooks up with just one wire. At the minimum, you will need a command control system. Lionel’s first system was Train Master Command Control (TMCC), released in 1995. Although we no longer manufacture this product, we do still support it and it is still used in many places.

How does DCC train control work?
The DCC puts digital control information into the electrical power of the train. The DCC signal is put on the model railroad’s tracks. Then DCC mobile decoders in locomotives on the tracks use the DCC signal to power and control their locomotive’s speed, direction, and lights.
